Is it just me, or are muffins one of the best types of food in the world? It’s almost like a cake, except when you eat it for breakfast, no one judges you.
I’ve also recently been reading about make-ahead breakfasts. I like this idea, because sometimes I get bored with my toast or porridge choice, and even though a good breakfast is important, sometimes I just want a little variety.

I love muffins, especially with fancy flavours, like passionfruit and white chocolate, or raspberry and white chocolate, or just plain old chocolate. But recently I’ve been trying to cut down a bit on my sugar consumption, which means that muffins are on my “sometimes” list. Being healthy is hard work sometimes.
At least, they were on my “sometimes list”. And then I remembered that you can make savoury muffins. You know, like cake, but not sweet. And often featuring another love of mine: cheese.
Don’t let the lack of sweetness fool you, though. These things are delicious.
I hope you enjoy this for breakfast as much as I do!
P.S. If you’re looking for some reading material on going sugar-free without all that nonsense about buying kale, I recommend David Gillespie’s Sweet Poison.
